Include integrated scores

Add Integrated score PDF attachments to the script's musical passages.

For a music rehearsal, you want Opening and its score in the same PDF as The last door.

Attach the PDF in the musical number’s Integrated score slot. See Attach an integrated score PDF for adding or replacing the file.

The export uses that slot specifically. Another PDF associated with the music is not automatically used as its integrated score.

  1. Choose Export in the app header.
  2. Under Template, choose Integrated score.
  3. Check any notice about music missing an Integrated score PDF.
  4. Wait for the preview to update, then inspect the musical passage and the score pages after it.
  5. Once the output is ready and checked, choose Download PDF.

Basic and Integrated score offer the same Content, Opening pages and Page flow choices. Switching between them keeps those current choices; Integrated score adds score integration.

If a notice lists missing scores, choose Review missing music. Click a number’s name to open it directly in the attribute manager, then add its Integrated score PDF.

Close the manager and check the updated export preview. A missing attachment is not included in the resulting PDF, so check the notice and output before downloading the music-rehearsal copy.

Integrated score uses open musical numbers retained by the export, with their corresponding Integrated score attachments. Point Hits do not receive score sections.

Score pages are inserted after the page containing the end of the musical passage’s current range. Check the music range if that placement is not where you expect. Finish or review an unfinished range before preparing the copy.

Character filtering can exclude a musical number’s scene. That number is then outside this output even if it has an attachment.

If an attached score is missing from the preview

Section titled “If an attached score is missing from the preview”

Check that the block at the end of the musical passage is included in the output too. If that block uses Notes, leave Show notes on in Content. If character filtering excludes the scene containing the ending, include that scene by adjusting the character selection or turn off the filter.

Then wait for the updated preview and check the score pages again. The missing-attachment notice checks whether a file is attached; its absence does not guarantee that a passage’s ending is included in your output.

The combined output can add blank pages to align music and score sections. Its running page numbering includes the inserted score pages.

When Contents includes musical numbers or scenes and musical numbers, the Integrated score template adds score references. A scenes-only contents page does not gain that score column.

Check both the script references and score references in the preview, especially after changing a music range, attachment or character selection.
